Exeter have their eye on Champions Cup progress as Geoff Parling and Co prepare to try and repeat famous European victory over Clermont

Exeter’s journey from the lower leagues of English rugby to Premiership runners-up and the top tier of European competition is well documented.
But as they return to Champions Cup action on Sunday with a second meeting with Clermont Auvergne in as many years, the Chiefs have designs on topping last season’s dramatic quarter-final defeat by Wasps.
Rob Baxter’s men – beaten 25-24 in the last eight in Europe last season and in fifth place domestically – host French giants Clermont at Sandy Park knowing home advantage in their tournament opener means they must get off to a fast start.
