Ex-soldier's shock as insurance firm declares him dead



A former soldier got the shock of his life to find insurers had written to his former wife telling her he had died.
Phoenix Life had sent the letter in error to retired Coldstream Guard John Bradford Wilson’s ex-wife at her former address, where her son David now lives.
Mr Wilson, 83, who lives in Pensarn, near Abergele, was shocked when his former stepson handed him the letter.
“David gave me the letter and I couldn’t believe what I was reading,” said the former Coldstream Guard, who served in Egypt, in the 1950s.
