Ex-Newcastle United chief Gordon McKeag's response to Toon fan's letter criticising St James' pies
 

An expat Newcastle United fan has unearthed a 27-year-old letter from a former Toon chairman who has his say on bad toilets, poor pies and crumbling terracing.
Peter Houliston wrote to Gordon McKeag in the dark, dark days of 1989 following Newcastle United’s relegation to the second tier.
Topics included a lack of big name players, bad facilities and - perhaps most importantly - poor quality pies from the St James’ Park concessions.
And McKeag was most sympathetic about the pies.
