​Ex-music student ploughed into a van and Renault Clio as a cry for help
 

Craig Gaskill, of Plackett Close, Stapleford, left carnage on the roads as he struggled mentally and emotionally with his addiction.
As the 38-year-old was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court yesterday, his barrister Lisa Hardy told the sentencing judge: "He was homeless and sofa-surfing and started injecting heroin. This was effectively a cry for help."
Her client, who studied at Nottingham's prestigious Confetti media centre, was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
