Ex-IRA terrorist confesses to bombing Army base 21 years ago
 

When James Corry, 48, from Belfast struck on June 28, 1996, Germany was on high alert for such attacks.
Corry's lawyer told judges at a hearing on Wednesday he was a member of the group committed to ending British rule of Northern Ireland and on the day of the attack helped install the mortar which fired shells at the Quebec Barracks in the city of Osnabrück.
He was arrested last year at Frankfurt Airport by German police after being extradited from Belfast. 
He is facing charges of attempted murder which could see him jailed for life.
