EU in last-ditch bid to save beleaguered Canada trade deal after knockout Belgium blow
 

The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, or CETA, would align EU trade with Canada in one of a series of negotiations that eurocrats have lined up.
But the deal needs agreement from trade ministers from every EU nation, and is yet to receive confirmation from Belgium.
The Belgian federal government will not be able to proceed without the authorisation of Paul Magnette, who opposes the plan over concerns about its social and environmental impact.
