England manager's job will go to Gareth Southgate as long as they beat Scotland next month
 

Gareth Southgate is closing in on the England job.
Football Association chiefs have been hugely impressed with Southgate, despite England’s disappointing draw in Slovenia on Tuesday.
It now appears that it is his job to lose, and the matter will come down to the next World Cup qualifier against Scotland on November 11.
As long as the Three Lions beat the old enemy at Wembley, the job is effectively Southgate’s on a permanent basis.
