England make two changes for World Cup qualifier against Slovenia



England lined up without their dropped captain Wayne Rooney and the injured left-back Ryan Bertrand for their World Cup qualifier in Slovenia.
They were the only two changes from the XI that defeated Malta 2-0 on Saturday, with Eric Dier replacing 117-cap Rooney and Danny Rose in for Bertrand.
That meant another chance for Jesse Lingard, preferred again to Manchester United team-mate Marcus Rashford, and a 50th cap for centre-half Gary Cahill.
The England end wasted no time in saluting the demoted skipper, breaking into "Rooney" chants as early as the second minute.
