England confident new father Alastair Cook will return to Bangladesh in time for opening test



England are confident captain Alastair Cook will return to Bangladesh in time to lead the side in the first Test starting on Thursday as they await news on the birth of his second child.
Cook spent 10 days acclimatising to conditions in the country alongside the one-day squad before flying home last week.
It is understood wife Alice was induced over the weekend and England are hopeful their captain — who has played 132 successive Tests stretching back more than a decade — will be on a flight tonight to arrive here on Tuesday afternoon.
