Engine worth £5,000 among items taken in raid on Redcar Sea Cadets unit
 

Sea cadets have been left with that sinking feeling after raiders made off with thousands of pounds worth of gear.
Thieves lifted a gate and smashed security doors at Redcar Sea Cadets’ unit behind Zetland Park Methodist Church before stealing a 40bhp Mariner engine used on the unit’s safety boat.
A second, smaller 8bhp engine was also taken, as well as camouflage gear and even ration packets.
The safety boat is used to safeguard the youngsters when on sailing, kayak and dinghy expeditions.
