End of an era as Scartho Baths site is finally cleared - see our before and after slider



THE bulldozers have gone – leaving nothing but a flat patch of ground on the site of the former Scartho Baths, Grimsby.
The site was finally levelled after the removal of asbestos from the Scartho Road buildings, which began in June.
Grimsby Swimming Pool, known locally as Scartho Baths, closed on Sunday, December 20, just a few days before the new £8.4 million swimming pool, in Cromwell Road, Grimsby, opened its doors.
The cost of levelling the area was estimated to be around £1.2 million in total – including £498,000 to clear the site and carry out isolation work and draining.
