End of an era as final flat is demolished at Comber Place - video



The final stage of the demolition of the Comber Place flats is taking place today.
Demolition of the flats in the East Marsh began in August and the site is due to be cleared by the end of October.
And the final flat is being flattened this morning.
Plans for the demolition of Comber and the tower blocks were announced by Shoreline in September 2014 as part of the long-term financial plans of the affordable housing charity to secure its future.
Adjacent to the six East Marsh high-rise tower blocks, the 86 Comber Place properties were constructed in 1965.
