Eight North East pubs fined £86,000 for illegally showing Premier League games
 

Eight North East pubs have been fined £86,000 for breaching copyright laws by showing Premier League football matches.
T Tonic and Chaplins, both in Sunderland, were ordered to pay a combined £35,000 by the courts for illegally streaming live games.
The Inn Place and Cavalier, also in Sunderland, agreed to pay a combined £12,000 and the Grey Horse was ordered to pay £11,000.
The Barley Mow Inn in Chester-le-Street, The Bridge in South Shields and The Bridge Inn in Cramlington were fined £11,000, £10,000 and £7,000 respectively.
