Eddy Eats enjoys a taste of traditional Sunday grub in the Tyne Valley
 

It was another sunny autumn Sunday so we headed for a drive into the countryside. Mrs Eats had a yearning to see some autumn colours so we headed into rural Northumberland, aiming for the Roman Wall.
Due to the splendid Indian summer, many trees had stayed decidedly green, but the scenery is always well worth a look. And when our stomachs decided it was lunchtime, Mrs Eats looked at the map and decided that we would look for lunch in Acomb, North of Hexham.
We parked on the busy main village street and walked for a bit, with the Miners’ Arms caught our eye.
