Ecuador admits cutting off Assange’s internet access



ECUADOR admitted on Tuesday night that it cut WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s internet access over his organisation’s release of emails by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Mr Assange, who has taken refuge in the Ecuadorian embassy in west London for four years, complained at the weekend that a “state actor” had severed his link to the web.
On Tuesday the Foreign Ministry in Quito said it had taken the step as it respects other nations’ sovereignty and does not interfere or support any candidate in foreign elections.
