East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedic stopped for 24 minutes while taking woman to hospital
 

A paramedic who made an unscheduled 24-minute stop while taking a young woman patient to hospital in Derby has been suspended for 12 months.
Asked during an internal investigation why he stopped on the way to hospital, Shane Kennedy replied: "I can only assume that I was reassuring her."
East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedic Kennedy was appearing at a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) fitness to practice tribunal.
