Durham relegated to Division Two after accepting multi-million rescue package from ECB
 

A joint statement from the governing body and the troubled north east club yesterday confirmed the news which will see them docked 48 points and relegated and Hampshire reprieved.
There had been unrest at other clubs after it emerged that Durham had to be propped up financially during the season but escaped the drop.
The release admitted that the package was needed for the club, whose debts have spiralled to £7.5m, to manage “current and historic debt and revenue issues”.
