Durham cricket chief Sir Ian Botham branded a 'bully' over plan to feed pheasants to the poor
 

Durham cricket chairman Sir Ian Botham has been branded ‘unpleasant’ and a ‘bully’ by radio listeners after getting into a spat with a presenter over his plans to feed the poor with pheasants.
The sporting hero, nicknamed Beefy by fans, is championing a charity scheme to provide 500,000 free meals of game to the poor every year.
Sir Ian, who was appointed Durham chairman in February, is to donate 10,000 birds from his leased shooting estates to the Country Food Trust along with £40,000 to turn them into casseroles and curries.
