Durham County Cricket Club relegation - how will it hit the area's economy?
 

The England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) decision to relegate Durham County Cricket Club and strip first class test matches from the Riverside will take away bumper pay days from Chester-le-Street’s pubs and businesses.
Durham CCC have been sent to the county game’s second tier and will start their second division campaign with a 48-point penalty.
The punishment is the price Durham is paying for the ECB writing off £2m of debt.
