Dunrobin Castle named most romantic castle in Scotland
 

IT was once used as a boarding school and has origins dating back to the 1400s, when its original building was created on the site of a mediaeval fort.
But now, Dunrobin Castle in Sutherland has been voted the most romantic-looking castle in Scotland in a VisitScotland poll.
The castle, which was converted into a boy's boarding school for seven years before opening to the public in 1973, was redesigned between 1835 and 1850, in the Scottish Baronial style by architect Sir Charles Barry, who had also created the Palace of Westminster.
