Joe Piggott admits he has modelled his game on Dundee United legend Duncan Ferguson.
The one-time Everton kid plied his trade at Goodison Park under the guidance of ex- Scotland and Tangerines star Ferguson.
Piggott arrived on Tayside as a free agent on transfer deadline day after previous spells at Oldham and Rochdale.
The 19-year-old striker made his first start in three months as United continued their defence of the Irn-Bru cup by defeating League One Alloa 3-1 to book a place in the third round.
