Drunk moped rider tried to con police in Broxtowe

A moped rider got a 52-month ban from the roads after claiming to be the victim of a hit-and-run crash on a Nottingham street.
Jobless Anthony Scott was found on the ground after having a few drinks with his son and then riding along Bradfield Road, Broxtowe, a court heard.
Paramedics were called and police were alerted about the incident on September 12.
Daniel Paulson, prosecuting, told Nottingham magistrates: "He said he was riding along and had been knocked over by a car and the car drove away."
