Drunk driver reversed car into wall before driving across lawn on late night tobacco run

A 28-year-old drink-driver took a car from outside a house and crashed it on a late-night trip to buy tobacco.
Carly Garton and her passenger Michael Parker took the car from someone they knew and tried to drive it to buy the tobacco at 2.30am on July 11.
But drunk Garton, who did not have a driving licence, reversed the car straight into a wall. As she continued to manoeuvre the car, she bumped into a kerb and then across a lawn. The noise woke a neighbour who called the police.
