Drivers to be fined for using Leicester city centre's 'bus only' Horsefair Street



A camera will be placed on Leicester city centre's Horsefair Street to issue fines to the thousands of drivers who ignore its 'bus only' rule.
The city council says the road, near the Town Hall, has been designated as route for buses only for more than 20 years but has not been enforced - until now.
Traffic surveys have shown on a single weekday more than 1,700 vehicles can go from Horsefair Street into Granby Street, around 700 of which should not be there.
Under the plan, £60 fines will be dished out motorists breaching the rule for the stretch between Market Street and Granby Street.... read more
