Driver jailed after mowing down man cleared of assaulting him in 'act of revenge'
 

A motorist was jailed yesterday for mowing down a man who had hours earlier been cleared of assaulting him.
Shaun Inglis ploughed into Thomas Barber and girlfriend Nicole Boyer as they walked in the street.
Inglis then crawled out of the smashed windscreen of his car, grabbed a brick and started bashing Thomas’s head.
He also bit his ear and threatened to kill him.
At the High Court in Edinburgh, Lord Boyd of Duncansby jailed Inglis for six-and-a-half years for what he called a “wicked act of revenge”.
