Q - I AM in my late 30s and have just found out that I’m going through early menopause. Do you know why this has happened and are there are any long-term health implications? 
A -AN early or premature menopause before the age of 40 occurs in about one per cent of women in the UK. As with the menopause at a later age, it can cause hot flushes and sweats, mood swings, irregular periods and fertility comes to an end.
