'Don't accept being attacked while doing your job' - police officers urged to make a stand



Police officers are being urged to "step up" and make a stand against violence meted out to them by the public.
Pete Musgrave, chair of the Humberside Police Federation, which represents rank and file officers, feels there is still a reluctance in the force to report abuse.
It is a trend he is keen to address and hopes members in our region will support the federation's Protect the Protector campaign, which has seen officers posting pictures of their injuries on social media in an effort to draw attention to the problem.
