Doctors find ’no link between flu in expecting mums and autism in children'
 

But there was a suggestion of increased risk of autism if an expecting mum has a flu vaccination in the early stages of pregnancy - but the researchers said it was “insignificant”. 
Scientists in the US carried out research into more than 196,000 children, born between 2000 and 2010, at a gestational age of at least 24 weeks. 
Within the group there were 1,400 mothers, 0.7 per cent, diagnosed with flu and 45,231 mothers, 23 per cent, who received a flu vaccination during pregnancy. 
A total of 3,101 children - 1.6 percent - were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
