Disabled people deserve free care - the mark of a civilised society is to help those who need it
 

Thousands of disabled people in Scotland need personal care to help with everyday essentials such as eating, washing and going to the toilet. But those who are under 65 have to pay for carers.
The bills can be huge and can vary widely across the country, depending on who provides the care and what is available locally.
Last year, the Audit Commission found that charges for a single hour of home care varied between £8.56 per hour and £23.70 in different areas.
More than 14,000 people in the UK are in arrears with bills for personal and social care.
