DIRECTOR'S DEALS: Colin Matthews, 60, Chairman, Shanks Group snaps up 100,000 shares for £114,500



Colin Matthews CBE, chairman at Shanks Group, has bought 100,000 shares in the commercial and hazardous waste business. Matthews, 60, who joined in March this year, paid 114.5p a share, spending £114,500.
The businessman, who has a master’s in engineering from Cambridge and is a chartered engineer, was previously chief executive at Heathrow Airport and Severn Trent.
He was appointed as the Government’s chair of Highways England in December 2014. He and his French wife, Florence, have four children and live in London.
Shanks has seen its share price rise almost 17 per cent this year.
