Diane James QUITS as UKIP leader just 18 days into the job



Diane James has quit her post as UKIP leader less than three weeks after her election, sources have said tonight.
She succeeded Nigel Farage only 18 days agowith a promise to 'wipe the slate clean' - and in an ironic twist, bookies immediately installed Mr Farage at 10-1 to make a return to the helm of the Eurosceptic party.
Senior sources have apparently confirmed to national media that Ms James has stood down, although the party's only MP Douglas Carswell has insisted on eating his dinner, rather than answering any media calls.
