Diane James ‘quits as Ukip leader after just 18 days’
 

Diane James has reportedly quit as leader of Ukip – after just 18 days in the role.
Nigel Farage’s successor is thought to have resigned after two and a half weeks in the job, though the party has yet to confirm she has stepped down.
Pupil who never missed a day of school now really, really regrets it James won the vote to replace him as leader at the party’s conference last month, and in doing so, became the first woman to become leader of Ukip, telling party members she was ‘so pleased’.
