Derbyshire teenager praised for rescuing pensioner after fall
 

A Derbyshire teenager who rushed to help a woman after she fell and badly injured herself, has been praised by the woman he rescued.
James Kells, 15, a pupil at St John Houghton Catholic Academy, spotted Carol Kirkman, 65, just seconds after she tripped and fell forward on to her face as she was walking up steps to her daughter's house in Ilkeston. He helped her to her feet.
Mrs Kirkman, of Waingroves, suffered a nasty cut to her head and knee and bruising but was saved from suffering more severe injuries by her titanium glasses which took the brunt of the fall.
