Derby support staff go to Labour conference as they prepare for next strike
 

Derby school support staff took their dispute over pay to the Labour Party conference in Liverpool in a bid to increase pressure on Derby City Council.
On Tuesday, almost 200 staff were taking their third day of strike action so far this term, which saw seven city schools closed and others only partially open.
Support staff stand to lose up to £6,000 a year because the Labour-led council put 4,000 staff on term-time only contracts in June, said their union Unison. The dispute was highlighted by the union in Labour's education debate at conference.
