Derby's Spot to be reopened with spectacular fire dancers show
 

A £1.2 million revamp of the Spot in Derby is to be unveiled this week with a showcase of magic, comedy, street traders and fire dancers.
The controversial redevelopment of the area attracted much public scrutiny with the council claiming it was government funded before revealing it had spent more than £500,000 on the project.
The transformation saw public toilets and the iconic clock tower removed from the Spot and replaced with an open space containing a £50,000 piece of art and benches engraved with a timeline of Derby's history.
