Derby's Edith Northedge turns 105 - and says secret to old age is making people happy and bingo!



A woman who has turned 105 today said the secret to a long life was keeping her mind active by playing bingo and making other people happy.
Edith Northedge was surrounded by friends and family as she recalled a life before electricity, where bedside candles were important and how she married the "love of her life" in the 1930s.
From her Shelton Lock retirement home, Derby-born Edith proudly showed off her birthday card from the Queen with her 76-year-old daughter Christine.
