Derby murder victim Satnam Singh suffered 'brutal and merciless' attack at hands of Sukhraj Atwal



The judge who jailed a Derby man for life for the murder of Satnam Singh told the killer he had carried out an attack that was "brutal and sustained on a defenceless man, causing catastrophic injuries".
Sukhraj Atwal must serve a minimum of 20 years for the murder of his former step-grandfather. The 29-year-old attacked Mr Singh as the 74-year-old walked from his home in Princes Street, Pear Tree, to open his local Sikh Gurdwara Temple, in the same street, shortly after 4.30am on July 23, 2015.
