Derby motorists warned to expect 5p fuel price hike

Derbyshire motorists are being warned that fuel prices could rise by up to 5p a litre by the end of the month.
The Petrol Retailers Association has said that a fall in the value of sterling, combined with Brent crude oil hitting a 52-week high, presents a double whammy for petrol and diesel prices. The warning comes just a week after motoring organisation the RAC predicted that prices at the pumps would rise by around 3p a litre in the next couple of weeks, due to a sharp fall in the value of the pound against the dollar.
