Derby election fraud trial: Activist 'made it clear' people were signing nomination forms not a petition to save Moorways

A political activist from Derby has told a jury he did not con people into signing nomination forms endorsing members of his party for council elections.
Christopher Fernandez said he made it clear to people on their doorsteps they were backing members of the Trade Union and Socialist Coalition rather than signing a petition to save Moorways swimming pool from being closed.
The 59-year-old, of Chaddesden, also said the people who signed the nomination form knew they were doing so and not, as the prosecution claim, signing the Moorways petition.
