Derby city councillor Bill Wright STAYING with UKIP and not joining Labour



Derby City Council has confirmed UKIP councillor Bill Wright has not defected to the Labour Party - hours after Labour announced that he had.
Confusion had surrounded the future of the Derwent ward councillor as both parties claimed he had pledged his allegiance to them.
A bizarre sequence of events saw Labour send out an announcement supposedly on Mr Wright's behalf this morning, with a statement from him saying he had "decided to join the Labour Party".
But this was refuted by Derby's UKIP leader, councillor Alan Graves, and then by Mr Wright himself at his home.
