Derby City Council did not do its homework on ice rink deal, says Tory councillor
 

The city council "did not do its homework" before agreeing a deal to bring the ice rink back to Derby, a leading Tory councillor said.
Funding for the festive attraction has been secured for the next three years, thanks to investment from the Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District and Derby-based training company 3aaa.
Derby City Council had paid outdoor structure company Showplace £30,000 a year to provide the ice rink since 2011. But a deal with the Cathedral Quarter BID and 3aaa has now been agreed that will reduce that figure to £23,333 a year. The council said it... read more
