Derby boss Darren Wassall targeting glory as they prepare to face Hull in play-offs 



Derby County sent out a ‘red herring’ when claiming promotion was not the ‘primary target’ this season in the aftermath of Paul Clement’s sacking, according to his successor.
Darren Wassall has revealed the statement put out by owner Mel Morris following Clement’s dismissal was misleading because Derby are absolutely aiming to be a Premier League side next season.
Former Real Madrid assistant Clement was sacked at the end of a seven-game winless run that had seen Derby fall to fifth and Morris said the team had ‘not made enough progress’.
