Dementia is now the leading cause of death and women are the most vulnerable, new statistics reveal 



Dementia is now the leading cause of death in England and Wales, shocking new figures reveal.
For the first time since figures began the neurological disorder has overtaken coronary heart disease at the top of the table.
It was responsible for 61,686 deaths registered in 2015, accounting for 11.6 per cent of the total figure. 
But the new data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows women are more susceptible to the deadly disease than their male counterparts.
