Demand for action after overtime bill for under pressure Police Scotland staff heads towards £100m
 

THE overtime bill at Police Scotland is soaring towards £100million just three years after the new force was formed.
Critics claim the figures show the massive strain officers are facing. They are calling on the SNP Government to “stop pretending everything is fine” at Police Scotland and take action to support officers and staff.
Figures obtained by the Lib Dems under freedom of information show that Police Scotland have paid £86.7million in overtime in their first three full years of existence.
The total is set to head towards £100m by April.
