Delays expected around The Galleries in Washington as traffic lights are hit by vandals
 

Commuters have been told to expect delays after vandals wrecked a traffic light control panel.
A set of 24 traffic lights near The Galleries shopping centre in Washington have been down since the early hours of Monday morning.
An inspection by highway staff revealed that a roadside control box had been broken into and burnt out. It will cost more than £20,000 and take up to eight weeks to replace.
The junction, which provides access into the town centre and Galleries, is between the A1231 Sunderland Highway the A182 Washington Highway.
