Defence secretary meets new army cadets at former Trojan Horse school



A Birmingham school has recovered from the Trojan Horse scandal like a ‘phoenix from the ashes’ according to Defence Secretary Michael Fallon.
The cabinet minister visited Rockwood Academy in Alum Rock to launch the school’s new cadet force which is encouraging youngsters to learn self-discipline, teamwork, confidence and life skills.
The school, formerly called Park View, was two years ago at the centre of the Trojan Horse scandal after it was found governors were trying to enforce a strict version of Islam on pupils.
