Decision delayed on shale gas bid which could lead to fracking
 

Energy developers will have to wait until next month to find out if they can explore for shale gas in Nottinghamshire - the principle resource gathered by the controversial mining technique 'fracking'.
Island Gas Energy (IGas) presented plans to the council's planning committee on Wednesday for plans to drill two wells to explore the commercial viability of a potential shale deposit 3,500 metres below Misson, in north Nottinghamshire.
Councillors, officers, members of the public and representatives from the applicants debated all day on the pros and cons of the application.
