As he faces possible bankruptcy, Dean Windass has revealed his tax hell began as a Boro player.
The ex-striker claims he’s had years of sleepless nights after investments he made while playing on Teesside soured.
It’s claimed he now owes £164k to the public purse.
On Monday, bankruptcy proceedings were launched in London against Windass, who played for Boro for three seasons in the early 2000s.
He said his Boro switch was a dream move - but his battle with the taxman has been a nightmare.
