David Rudisha pulls OUT of World Athletics Championships: World record holder explains why
 

Rudisha would have been one of the event’s biggest stars having produced a memorable run at the London Stadium five years ago.
The Kenyan lowered his own world record by a tenth of a second to 1:40.91 on his way to Olympic gold at London 2012 in one of the best performances of the Games.
But the 28-year-old revealed today will not be able to play any part in this month’s World Championships due to a leg injury.
“It’s sad and disappointing to announce my no show in the forthcoming #london2017 WC due to a quad muscle strain,” Rudisha said.
