Darren Clarke remains defiant as Europe fall three points behind USA at Ryder Cup, insisting 'it has been done before from a worse position'

Darren Clarke remained defiant on Saturday night after Europe slipped three points behind the USA saying: ‘It has been done before from a worse position’.
Lee Westwood had the chance to half his fourballs match but missed his short putt on the 18th hole to gift JB Holmes and Ryan Moore a 1up victory, which would have narrowed the overall lead to two.
‘I’m disappointed with this afternoon’s result,’ said Clarke. ‘We hung in this morning and had a few chances this afternoon but that’s the nature of the Ryder Cup.
